Crowns

One of Dr Ilic’s favourite dental procedures are crowns and bridges because they are an excellent long term solution for heavily restored or missing teeth. Crowns are also known as “caps” and are used to restore teeth to their original shape or size by covering or encasing the whole surface of the tooth with porcelain, zirconia and/or precious and semi- precious metals.

Crowns are widely used to protect heavily restored teeth and root canal treated teeth from breaking and needing to be removed. They are made to closely resemble your own teeth so that they look and feel very smooth and natural.

Bridges

A dental bridge is used to replace a missing tooth/teeth and is ideal for patients who do not want a removable denture or an implant placed into their jaw. A dental bridge is made from the same material as a crown -zirconia, porcelain or porcelain fused to precious/semi-precious metal. It usually consists of two crowns- one on either side of the missing tooth/teeth and a ‘pontic’ to replace the missing tooth. It is a structure that is permanently bonded and is an excellent way of attaching replacement teeth in the mouth and restoring function and appearance.

A dental bridge may not be the right solution for everyone and this is something Dr Ilic will discuss with you in detail during your consultation.

All crowns and bridges placed by Dr Ilic are 100% Australian made, by registered Dental Technicians, using TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) approved materials.

We are proud of the fact that our crowns and bridges are made right here in Australia and this enables us to offer our patients a 10- 15 year lab warranty on their crown and bridge work. It also ensures that all products and materials used by us and our labs are TGA approved and that adherence to Australian Statutory requirements for infection control is always maintained.

Dental implants

Dental Implants replace missing teeth and they are metal fixtures in the jaw which act as a support for a crown. Implants are a surgical dental procedure and this is why we only work with well - known specialists in the area to ensure your implants are done to the highest standard.

Once the implant is placed by the specialist and integrated into your jaw, we will do the necessary crown or bridge work.
